Okestra Care, Inc. Launches the first free two-sided platform for the Care Industry.

Background Check on Okestra.care

At Okestra.care, we take the safety of our members seriously and that is why we have the background check feature on the platform. We believe that every care seeker should be empowered with the tools to make the right decision for themselves and their family – as they find the perfect caregiver for their respective needs.

We have an inbuilt background check feature for caregivers to take advantage of so that their profiles can be more trusted and attractive to potential care seekers. There are two background check options available:

  1. Criminal History
    1.   National Criminal Database: A proprietary database compiled from US court records; sourced from county courts, statewide criminal databases, and correctional databases.
    2. County Criminal: Searches offenses, charges, file numbers, file dates, disposition, and sentences in any country in the counties with criminal history found by the National Criminal Database and searches the current residential county court.
    3. Global Watch: In compliance with the USA Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) Screening, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and many other terrorist and fraud searches

  2. Criminal History and Motor Vehicle Report
    1. Includes all the searches in Criminal History
    2. Motor Vehicle Report: The Motor Vehicle Report queries the applicants State Department of Motor Vehicles and provides a 3 to 5 years driving history on the applicant. Out of state driving related charges and vehicle-related crimes are frequently included on the report.

When a caregiver has undergone the background check on Okestra.care, Care seekers would be able to request to view the result of the background check from the caregiver’s profile page – once the request is accepted, the Care seeker would be able to view the result:

A “Pass” or “Fail” will indicate when the background check has been completed. The detailed result has been sent to the caregiver; we advise that Care Seekers request to view the report. For caregivers that do not have their background check done, we recommend Care seekers opt to pay for the background check before hiring:

Cost:

  • Option 1 - (Criminal History) - $22 + $3 service fee
  • Option 2 - (Criminal History and Motor Vehicle Report) - $26 + $3 service fee

Okestra.care has taken other measures to verify the identity of caregivers through Facebook, email and phone number verification. The status of these verifications can be seen on their profile, we urge Care Seekers to take extra precautions before hiring any caregiver as all these methods of verifications are not fool proof.
